We promote parliamentary dialogue between the representatives of business chambers and members of the Legislative Power. Our goal is to take to the Congress the contributions and worries of the industrial sector. We address at an early stage draft bills and acts being discussed at the Congress related to the activity of the industrial sector.
We coordinate with the rest of the technical areas of UIA the intervention in hearings and other instances of participation during the drafting of the regulations. We work on the legislative agenda issuing opinions that are sent to lawmakers, presidents of commissions and different caucuses. At the same time, we carry out a technical follow-up with the advisors of lawmakers that are authorities in different issues.
We provide technical support to the different departments about bill-passing processes, as well as a Service of Parliamentary Information that registers the activities of the Deputies’ and Senators’ Chambers. We also issue Parliamentary Alerts when the level of activity of a project of special interest to the sector increases. This information is offered to the members as a guide to the activity of the Congress during the parliamentary year.
SAll business entities and chambers associated to UIA can appoint members to take part in the activities organized by the department.
