We are a channel of communication between the public and private sectors. We detect and interpret the problems related to social and labor issues in order to communicate them to the pertinent bodies and find pertinent solutions. We work with the goal of cooperating in the construction of a Nation based on labor policies that promote industrial development within a frame of competitiveness and decent and productive labor.
We take active part in national and international bodies in charge of elaborating the political and institutional framework; we focus on the labor agenda in order to provide a technical background to UIA’s institutional decisions in the social and labor fields.
With this goal, we hold periodic meetings in which we discuss the agenda related to federations, chambers and members of the entity. We also carry out trainings for the representatives of the employers’ sector.
Our team takes active part in the International Organization of Employers (IOE), International Labour Organization (ILO) and Organization of American States (OAS). We participate in the groups that elaborate regulations and divulge the position of the Argentine employers’ sector on these forums. Thus, we actively represent the Argentine employers’ sector in international conferences whose goal is the elaboration of labor policies and regulations that are later ratified by the country.
At the national level, we take part in policy-making mechanisms, not only in the National Congress but also in the process of implementation. We do this through the presentation of proposals and measures that aim to advance the goals defined by the institution.
We issue opinions that analyze political and legislative initiatives related to the labor and social fields; these are later presented to the members and governmental bodies. We present legislative and regulation projects, proposing practical solutions that fit the needs of the sector. We hold meetings with representatives of different levels of the administration, with the goal of communicating the worries of the productive sector.
All business entities and chambers associated to UIA can appoint members to take part in the activities organized by the department.
